Individuals are your opted-in customers or contact database. Respect them. In order to comply with best practices, they must have signed up to receive Broadcasts from you. Just because someone interacts with a text message or mobile campaigns does not automatically mean that they will appear as Individuals or have opted-in to receive communications. If your advertising call-to-action contains the necessary opt-in information, then you can automatically add people to your Individuals database by using the Groups Registration module (under Campaigns > Groups) to add people to a Group. Never import a 3rd party database. Have them sign up for your campaigns via text message or from your website and always include in your message a way to opt-out from receiving any more text messages from you. Otherwise this is considered SPAM.

Your customers subscribe by texting the correct keyword phrase(or match word). They are sent back a confirmation message letting them know they are now opted it. InvolveMobile does not use double opt-ins for standard text messaging, this only applies for premium rate sms services which is not available as part of InvolveMobile. If you are interested in premium rate sms services, please contact us.

If you click on Individuals > Show All, the top hand right corner will show how many Individuals total are in your database. This includes all records, including those who may have opt-ed out or those whom you may have temporarily imported. If you would like to find out how many people meet a certain criteria, such as how many females in your database (and your database has that information) - use the Search function to add the Criteria you would like to search by and click on Search. This will bring up the total as well as all records which meet the Criteria you have setup.

No. they will only be added as an individual when you have setup a Group Registration campaign (Campaigns > Groups) or they sign up via the Web Registration module integrated on your website. This allows you to run campaigns that customers can interact with without necessarily signing up to receive text message broadcasts or offers from you, like a one time coupon.

You can either use Individuals > Search to setup an unlimited number of include and exclude Criteria or you can go to Individuals > Show All and use the simple Search feature in the top navigation bar.

Groups are lists within your database or a way of segmenting the customers in your database. You can use them in any number of ways, but they are often used for managing separate opt-in lists or to separately record customers for future action, such as exporting data. You have 10 different Groups that you can use for your campaigns in InvolveMobile.

If you want to add customers to a Group automatically when they send in a text message, you can build a campaign using the Campaigns > Groups module or to have people sign up online, use the Web Registrations module to create a form that you can link to from your website. You can have a Groups campaign running at the same time as another campaign so that the one inbound message matches two campaigns (for example: one campaign to register them in a Group in your opt-in Individuals database and an On Demand campaign to send back a mobile coupon). You can use the Individuals > Search tool to find a list of people, highlight the relevant rows (or Select All) and then click on the Actions link > Add To a Group. You can also easily add a single Individual in your database to a group by viewing their Individual details page and clicking on the listed Group and saving the updated profile.

If you use a Group to manage your opt-in list (you may have several), then go to Individuals > Groups and the totals for each Group are listed, including those who have opt-ed out.

Search is based on Involve's powerful Criteria builder. You can search for Individuals in your database based on a variety of Search types. If you click on the red-green arrows, you can see the list of search types that appear, including the ability to search across your customers interaction history. By default the Search type is set to search across any fields in your database, such as first name or zip code. If you click on the Field name, you will see a drop down list of available fields. If you click on "= (Equal To)" you can select the type of match you are looking for. In the search box you enter the string you are looking for (example: zip code = 83702). You can also search using wildcards such as "8*" which would find any zip codes that start with 8. After setting up the Criteria, you then click on Add Criterion. You can set up powerful include and exclude rules based on your needs (like an intelligent tree decision process). Once you have established the criteria you are looking for, click on Search. The results will bring up all Individuals records that match the criteria you established and the totals. You can then take actions on these Individuals in these Search results, such as adding them to a Group.

Using Individuals > Search (also see the question related to Search) you can select the search type by clicking on the red-green arrow. You can select to search by Individual History (such as when they were added to a Group or to your database), when they interacted with a Campaign you setup and a variety of other options which are only relevant when using the Involve platform for other channels as well.

You can use Search or Show All to find the Individual, then click on View Details (Action wheel) and there are two tabs that appear next to the Individuals profile, History and Message History. These provide complete layered history on all interaction that a consumer has with you.

Go to Individuals > Import and follow the step by step wizard. You must first have a clean CSV file with the data in the CORRECT format (please see other FAQs), otherwise you will be importing data that is inconsistent with what you already have. You can opt to use the de-duplication tools and also overwrite current Individuals who are already in the database. Be careful with how you import and deal with your data, we recommend you check and re-check. Do not import records of consumers who have not expressly opted-in to your service.

Mobile messaging works on international format and all numbers should be 10 digits in length in this format; "1234567890", with no spaces, hyphens or other characters. For the US, all phone numbers should begin with "1" when importing. When someone texts in to your account, we automatically collect the mobile number in international format.. You can use Microsoft Excel to clean your data by using the Replace function (Control button and the F key). Find what would be the character that you need to eliminate, and in the replace with what section, leave it blank.

You can export your entire database at anytime by going to Individuals > Export or by using Search to find a demographic segment and then selecting the rows (or Select All) and clicking on the Actions > Export link. You will then be provided with a popup timeline that downloads the data into a CSV format which you can save to your local desktop. Time will be determined by the size of the database you are exporting. When it is finished click on the download link.

When importing, select the option to overwrite existing addresses and ensure that your data is in EXACTLY the same format and is clean prior to import.

InvolveMobile manages all opt-in and opt-out processes and provides the database applications to manage this. If you would like to understand who has opted-out, go to Individuals > Opt-Out List and you can export at anytime, or you can use Search and set the criteria based on Opt-out. When someone texts in STOP, they are automatically opted-out.

There are a number of options, you can link direct or setup iframes around the form and edit the appearances as per the options within the module. You may also want to speak with your web developer regarding this.
